MLA South East is committed to integrating strategic marketing into the business processes of museum, library and archive organisations in the South East.
We want museums, libraries and archives to re-evaluate their core services and their competitive environment to anticipate and respond to the needs of customers and potential customers on a sustainable, long-term basis.
We believe that strategic marketing can help delivery of the two strategic areas which are the focus of the MLA Partnership:
- People and communities - delivering quality services that people want and need
- Improvement and innovation - actively including museum, library and archive visitors in the development of collections, resources and services
We encourage museums, libraries and archives to use the tools that marketing provides to help them achieve their business objectives, whether these are to retain customers, recruit new customers or to generate income.
We have undertaken a Marketing Needs Assessment 'After Value' to help us prioritise the marketing support we need to provide.
After Value places marketing in a context of cultural value, develops a marketing planning framework and identifies the key marketing needs expressed by the sector in the South East.
After Value launches a new approach to embedding strategic marketing in selected museum and library services through developing best practice.
