Pain Free Projects

On 22 June 2006 members of the South East Libraries Reading Development Partnership attended a project management course run by Metaphizz www.metaphizz.com.

The aims of the day were:

  • Being a project manager: who you have to be, creating the best mindset for success and sanity
  • Start with the end in mind: clear vision, purpose and goals
  • The Magic Triangle: a simple systems approach to managing projects
  • Appropriate time planning tools: choosing the right ones for you
  • Successful project meetings: the 3 key things to take from them
  • Critical communications: keeping them clear and simple
  • Managing risk: how to stay ahead of surprises
  • The most useful word in project management
  • The most common mistakes in project management ... and how to avoid them
  • Change- and self-management: avoiding resistance and managing stress
