Case Studies

MLA South East is building up a resource of case studies highlighting innovative work in museums, archives and libraries in the South East region.

Our aim is both to encourage the sharing of knowledge and good practice within the sector, and to demonstrate to those outside the sector what museums, archives and libraries can contribute to wider initiatives.

Below is a list of all case studies relating to funding & fundraising.

Visit our Publications section for a complete listing of case studies.

This case study highlights the impact of these networks in the South East sub-region of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (HIOW). • Impact of the Renaissance South East Skills Bank on Museums in the South East
  • 06 October 2006
  • South East Museums have free access to the Skills Bank, part of the Sharing Skills programme, which is a pilot scheme aimed at helping museums in the region to make the most of local resources and share skills. It is a comprehensive online listing of people and organisations across the South East willing to share their expertise and experience with others for free. Skills available through the bank include preventive conservation, photography, design, strategic marketing and PR. This case study demonstrates the impact of the Skills Bank on a variety of museums across the South East, both from the point of view of those who have received advice and support and from those who have provided it.

  • Operational Area: Access and Inclusion, Funding & Fundraising, Learning & Skills, Museums, Standards, Workforce Development
  • Impact of Renaissance on a Small Independent Museum

  • Active Places and Everyday Sport in the South East
  • 30 June 2006

  • Charleston Trust: Arts & Business Skills Bank Programme
  • 03 May 2006

  • Operational Area: Funding & Fundraising
  • Highland Museum of Childhood: Arts & Business Skills Bank Programme
  • 13 April 2006
  • The Highland Museum of Childhood (HMOC) opened in Strathpeffer’s old railway station 11 years ago. Tucked away from the road it offers both visitors and locals a chance to step back in time - its collection tells the story of the social history of Highland childhood over the last century.
