Museums, libraries and archives have a unique opportunity to be part of the Games - during the four year Cultural Olympiad running from 2008 to 2012, during the elite Olympic and Paralympic sporting events themselves in 2012, and for the legacy beyond.
It is easy to think of the year 2012 being beyond the immediate planning horizon, but Beijing will hand over the flame to London in the summer of 2008. MLA South East is eager to work with the museums, libraries and archives across the South East to identify opportunities both to contribute to and benefit from the world spotlight focused on the Games.
