ICT Training needs of Visually Impaired Users

In 2004 MLA South East was approached by West Sussex Library Service who were keen to undertake some consultation work with the Visually Impaired to understand their ICT Training Needs.

Whilst there are a number of really good projects in the region, many Library Services have installed adaptive equipment and technology but are finding that it is not being used to full capacity.

This piece of work maps current provision, highlights best practice and offers some practical advice and recommendations for the region.

A group of librarians from across the region will be meeting to discuss the outcomes of the project and to assess how they might work together to improve IT services to the visually impaired.
