Partnerships and Projects

The National Archives, in partnership with MLA South East and other regional and national organisations, has undertaken a number of projects to promote archives and create new and innovative resources for users.

Access to Archives (A2A)
The A2A database contains catalogues of archives held across England and dating from the 900s to the present day.

Archives 4 All Programme
Archives 4 All is an aUK (Archives UK consortium) programme to make archives more appealing and more accessible through activities and projects.

Moving Here
A database of over 200,000 digitised items related to migration to England over the last 200 years. 30 national and local museums, archives and libraries have contributed material from their collections for users to download free of charge. In addition, there is a growing number of personal migration stories contributed by members of the public.

Community Access to Archives Project
The Community Access to Archives Project (CAAP) team at the National Archives has developed and launched its final report and best practice model to address the practicalities of developing community-based online archive projects from start to finish and beyond.

The best practice model and outreach pack contain a wealth of helpful information covering case studies, funding streams, surveys and an evaluation checklist.

Further details on these and other projects are available from The National Archives.
